Our Story
On May 9th, 1973, Ms. Wilene Minor, the last living charter member, wrote these words: "For the past five weeks, we have been having a neighborhood Bible Study in the home of Ms. Earl Hurley...we are ready to start a mission with Sunday Services."
And so began the foundation of South Reno Baptist Church. In 1975, the church voted to purchase 7.2 acres of land on Hash Lane (now McCarran Blvd.) where the church sits. Our prayer has always been that the harvest of souls that would take place in our midst would be more numerous than the weeds that once filled this property.
Today, South Reno Baptist Church conducts three worship services that reach around the globe. We remain committed to glorifying God and reaching individuals with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Vision
Reach our community and beyond with the good news that Jesus saves (Luke 15, 19:10).
Teach believers through the Bible how to love God and others as themselves (Col. 1:28, Mt. 22:37-40).
Send believers back into the world to share with others the story of how Jesus saved them (Rom. 10:13-15, Acts 1:8).
